This is a gestural work inspired by daily headlines that make their way to me on any given day- some prompts are from international news, some local and some are ones that arrive by chance, usually forwarded from family, friends or colleagues. When painting these works, I tend to work in a surrealist automatic way and let my subconscious take the lead. I don’t read every article in full but the words and means that they’ve made their way in to my world will inevitably have its impact on my subconscious.
